Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
Mjolnir 3 is no longer a space heater, but as far as an audible difference not really. Maybe a whisper more clarity, and that I am chalking up to the fact that I am trying to find a difference. I tried 3 headphones I use regularly /w tracks I listen to often.- MindBreak

I don't know if these will perform any better for you, but these are the cables I use https://www.amazon.com/Foot-Balanced-Microphone-NC3MXX-B-NC3FXX-B/dp/B00VFGUCHY?ref_=ast_sto_dp...- MindBreak

Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
Mine has been a space heater for a few weeks now, so I guess that is long enough that if any differences are audible I would be able to notice them. lol- MindBreak

Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
Playing with using feedback turned on while using the Mjolnir 3 as a preamp. I am going to give it a few days to see if I notice a major difference when I switch back. So far so good though. In other news I ordered a desk fan to blow air over the pile of Schiit on my desk. It should arrive...- MindBreak

Noise in my system.
Are there any power cables leaning up against the interconnects? Depending on shielding and sensitivity of the equipment that could contribute to the issue. BT can also interfere with the audio signal as well (I turn it off if a DAC has it). The wireless phone charger might be an issue, but...- MindBreak

Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
Congrats! The hum is kind of overplayed it is really low, and I only hear it if I have my ear within an inch or two of the amp. Mine does vibrate a little though, lol. I would suspect it would be a noticeable improvement over the Topping A90D when driving the Empyrean II. I noticed an...- MindBreak

I hear you, the only reason I got the silver Bifrost was because it was at a discount on B-stock. It should be a nice pairing, as others have said that Mjolnir 3 benefits from a more capable DAC.- MindBreak

Unfortunately I think that is just one of quirks of the amp. Mine vibrates slightly due to it. How loud is it? I only hear mine when i put my ear near the unit.- MindBreak

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Looking at some of the listings on this site, some people are asking way... too much for their used pair of Arya Stealth. I purchased mine for full price which was around $1,600 at the time, but I know that I wouldn't be able to sell them for any more than $600 right now, lol. Edit: okay some...- MindBreak

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Solid state for the most part. There are tube amps that will play nice with Planar headphones, but most don't on the affordable end except for hybrid tube amps. I run my Arya V3 off of a Mjolnir 3 currently, but I have used them with an Asgard 3 and up. They will scale well as you upgrade...- MindBreak

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I don't have experience with the EF600, but it seems like a capable unit. Right now I am powering my pair with a Mjolnir 3 paired with a Bifrost 2/64. Edit: Currently listening to Call Me Little Sunshine on these though- MindBreak

I went from the Sundara to the Arya as well (V3) when I was looking for an upgrade. It is kind of the next logical step if you like Hifiman headphones. Congratz on your new cans! If you ever want to upgrade the cable I recommend Corpse Cable.- MindBreak

ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
I have my Atrium 2024 LTD (canare) on order as of late last month, and the last update I got was that they were heading to machining. So it will probably be a few more weeks until I have them in hand. I will post picks once I get them though.- MindBreak

Lol, that would certainly outperform my Gjallarhorn mono blocks. Yeah, Starry Night is similar to a speaker load, so I can't see how that wouldn't sound good. You won't have much play with the volume pot though.- MindBreak

Yet I like my Arya V3, who would figure. Granted it took 2 cable swaps to get them sounding just right to me. The MJ3 did make an improvement on top of that vs my Burson Soloist 3xp /w supercharger.- MindBreak

SJY Audio Starry Night Planar Magnetic Headphone
A little update on MJ3 powering Starry Night v1. My MJ3 has been on 24/7 for around 2 weeks now, and I have logged some more time towards breaking it in. With that said, Starry Night sounds better when powered by the MJ3 now. Is it as good as running them off of a speaker amp? No, but it is...- MindBreak
