makes sense for them to use the worst 154x since it is the cheapest. my main problem is that it is not a pure r2r dac. which makes the whole r2r thing a beautifully packed lie. to me the ad1865 would be a much smarter choice, a real r2r dac.

and also, headphones.com opened the page to preorder the ef499, the thing is it says "the EF499 lies a state-of-the-art digital-to-analog conversion technology, capable of handling high-resolution audio files up to 32-bit/384kHz." in the description. which doesn't make sense since the ef400...
