Oh bummer, that is too bad. Yeah altitude is critical. As I understand it every 1000 feet is three degrees cooler, and Nevada gets high quick. The real-time fine tuning is looking at multiple weather apps a week or so ahead of time. I use The Weather Channel, Windy, and Weather Underground...

I only go into town once every ten days to two weeks, and tomorrow I'm heading North, so I probably won't have the chance. But this is a good spot to wait out rising temp on what's likely an annual Northward journey, so I'm sure I'll have the opportunity in the future. Tonopah tomorrow; Ely on...

It's kinda hard to tell, but about half the walls were painted a pale pink. I was leary when Amy picked the colors, but I love it now. It's not in the pix, but the window curtain is an illustrated map of the USA that Amy made for me and is wonderfully colorful with the light behind it.

    .....and, I'm up for air!

I had a girlfriend during the Covid high season. We waited it out summer of 2020 isolating on a small property in Missouri. Holy crap is it miserably hot there. No kiddin', 99 degrees and 99% humidity far too often. I never knew I was a nudist. Amy tended a garden there and I remodeled Putt so...

Oh yeah, saw numerous donkeys in town today. And many when I camped here a couple of years ago. Thankfully Dart doesn’t have a taste for donkey poop. It’s all ove the place here where we’re camped. I’ll post a couple of pix tomorrow.

No crap. I’ll have to take a look and check that out. My dog Dart would ****ing love a plot of grass right about now after being a desert dog fir the last 6 months. I’ll check it out, but send me a pin to the park if you can.

Had to wait until I was 65 and eligible for Medicare. My doc almost laughed at me in my face when I said, "So, i'm qualified for Medicare now and need to have my hips replaced." He said, "Let's start with the xrays. We have to jump through all the hoops of possible cheaper alternatives before...

Thanks, I'm okay. My hips are screwed and I spent last summer in Montana getting it all lined up for this summer having both hips replaced. My son and daughter share a house with a spare bedroom, so I'll have a great place to recuperate and have support. Currently, I'm camped a few miles west...

    No, that didn't happen.

I hear you, man. Plus, if I ever get to South America and have a little breakdown, it's not unlikely a shade tree mechanic will have parts for a 5.9. The VT365 not so much...at all.

I also installed a three-stage water filter (in the Home Depot parking lot). It's about $150 worth of parts you can get at a RV/Marine supply store---of which there is no shortage along the Colorado River in Western AZ. Basically, I designed the cabinet so that I could pull out all the drawers...

Alrighty then, a little more detail on my upgraded solar. Previously, I had two 100Watt panels and two 6V golf cart flooded lead-acid batteries. At the very end of the van build, I added four more 100W solar panels, four new Trojan flooded GC2 batteries and a new 1500W inverter/charger. So, I...

Just dropped by to see Larry yesterday. He's got an engine on the way and will be rebuilding it in January. I'll be showing up sometime in February for the engine swap. Will be swapping my VT365 and Alison 1000 automatic transmission for a Cummins 5.9 12Valve and ALison 542 mechanical automatic...

Phew. Van build is over, time to start on my own van build. You see, phase one of my build was just getting out the door in a workable situation. Now that I’m out and about, and have the money from my house, I can start on phase two—-which is throwing a bunch of money at various things. First...

    .....and, I'm up for air!

Anyhow, a couple of days go by, and Jamie walks up to me and says, "Man, I got so much stuff going on, and I got this headphone review I really want to do for this guy." I looked him in the eye for a few seconds. "I haven't told you what I did for a living, have I?" "No." "I was a...

Pretty much the same game as 10000, but three 1s is 300; any four of a kind 1000; 3 pairs and a straight are 1500; 2 trips and five of a kind is 2500; six of a kind is 3000. If I play my rules with a group of 10000 players I never win because they take a bit more risk and someone will get a...

Speaking of partying: When I pulled in, I stopped by Jamie's bus at center camp. I told him I had a couple of batteries that were about half good that I could donate. He said sure and we went into my rig to get them. He was wowed by Putt. When I told him I had trouble shooting skills and would...

After Truth or Consequences, I headed south to Big Bend Texas for a motorcycle rally. Sorry, no pix, I plum forgot I was having so much fun. Then off to my very first, honest to God, nomad destination: Jamie's Van Build Party. Let me set this up for you: There's a WHOLE lot of homeless folks...

No, I'm not coming back into the headphone world...except for one little thing, but we'll get to that shortly.

I'll try. 'Course stuff happens.... Like I was pulling up to the stop sign at the I10 exit 1 in Ehrenberg when I came to a full stop and the engine died....and just wouldn't start again. Ruh rho! Got a $600 tow five miles into Blythe CA and Shafer Diesel Repair. Larry runs the shop...

    Woot! I'm posting again.

Hi guys! Got through the first 7 weeks on the road. What a trip. Been busy as hell, but am beginning to have the time to touch base and say hi. Jude and Joe set up a blog area for me to keep you guys up to date on my travels. Come join me here...

Cuppa Joe in the morning then off to the cliff dwellings. The cliff dwellings are tucked back into a small canyon. They're quite hidden and you don't see the entrance until just before you get there. From what the rangers told me, there was a wide-spread, long-lasting drought in the desert...

What a great drive. Putt is running like a champ, and even though it's a big beast to move along a twisty road, it handles really nice and is a treat to drive. Stopped just short of the cliff dwelling for the night at a cool camground. Eight bucks a night and two hot springs to soak in.

    .....and, I'm up for air!

I would be at Rick's for a week waiting for a buddy to show up in Truth or Consequences, so I decided to take a little side trip to the Gila cliff dwellings. I head West on 152 for breakfast in Hillsboro at the General Store. Then up and over Emory Pass to Silver City. OMG, talk about a...
