Have you tried doing the mod you did on the delta to these?

2(??!!) - 26kHz???? Wow if that's really true then I cant wait! Great review! The deep sub bass will be great but the midbass quantity sounds like a lot.. Hopefully they won't have too much bass for me. Did you do your review with the stock tips or wide bore tips?

I definitely won't like the Delta then, since I already feel that the A2 overall sig is a little bright for me, making female vocal slightly too bright (and less natural).  Since you said the CKR10 is more natural in the voices, I'm looking forward to my Ali CKR9 and CKR9LTD.

Is there anything better for under $100?

Thanks for the support guys!

@Inks Not yet but I will.

@RedTwilight The review was with wide bore tips.

@Grayson
Please remember that the Delta's are highly tunable with four different filters so you cpuld get them less bright. I've also modded my pair to reduce mid-bass which also adds to the thinner/brighter impression.

Regarding the CKR's one of their biggest strengths to me is definitely natural vocals and their bass reproduction (the regular CKR9's in particular for my preference).

"Better" is of course highly subjective but for me the Havi B3P1 is certainly better. I also picked up the GR07BE for $75 on the Aliexpress 25/8 sale and they're at least on the same leve to me. Maybe a couple of more (IM70's and the modded Delta's comes to mind) but as I said it's all up to your preferences :)

A2's are well above the waterline for me!

Could you elaborate on what appeals to you with regard to the Havi B3P1?  I have a pair of the A2s on order, and given your comments I have taken a second look at the Havi..  I have been on the fence with regard to trying the Deltas but it seems like it is easier to enjoy the A2s right out of the packaging rather than fiddling with the Deltas.

You'll really be Havi-ng a good time with those in your ears. 2 years on they're still in my top 2.

Thanks for nice review, I'm considering between this gem and the ATH-IM70.
I've already had Havi B3P1 and it seems little thin in vocal, less bass/sub-bass presence, and brighter than my preference. Which one between LZ-A2 and ATH-IM70 that you think it appropriate for me ? I can find ATH-IM70 with price about 75$. Thanks again, Peter!

@Tarnum Thanks for the support!

Interesting question (IM70 vs LZ-A2). Unfortunately I've sent out my LZ-A2 to someone else to try but I brought out the IM70 last night and from memory this is my findings:

They both have a L-shape to their sound, the LZ-A2 more so than the IM70. The LZ-A2 has a bit deeper sub-bass and quite a bit more impact. They also have more mid-bass presence and occasionally have too much for my prefernce (only on some recordings) while the IM70 feels more linear (athough still with enchanced bass). Despite of the LZ-A2 having more bass presence they also have a bit brighter vocals. The IM70 on the other hand has better treble extension.

I'd rate these two on the same level on pure technical performance so it really comes down to your preference. Although I personally probably would put the IM70 on top (please remember that this is without direct A/B, would need to da so for a final conclusion) the LZ-A2 has a more unique sound signature.

Both are signifiacantly fuller in overall presentation compared to the Havi's but I dont think that the LZ-A2's are any less bright in the way it presents vocals. If you're looking for something fun while still staying away from the typical V-shaped offerings I can't really see how you could go wrong with any of these.

Hope this helps :)

FYI, I put JVC Spiral Dots on the LZ-A2 and they made a big difference; larger soundstage, better detail, better imaging.

@grayson73 Excellent, was just going to do that myself. Really digging the A2's sound!

@peter123 : thank you so much for the detailed comparison. ATH-IM70 maybe more appropriate for me, I will pick it up for sure.
