Couldn't agree with you more on this. Wood, (lots of) metal, dual-mono cloth braided cable with metal housings for the plugs, minimalistic use of plastic, yet pleather for the band and cups. What!

since you had hands on, would they be durable enough for portable use?
they are gergious but do look fragile .
