As a OG QP1 (not QP1R) and current QP2R owner, my issue is with the support...is Questyle even in business anymore? I've heard too many stories on here that nobody has gotten a response from them as of late, and that they have ran off some of the people (Bruce) who we used to contact with issues. Can anyone elaboirate on this at this time?

Sorry, I can’t help you with that, but I hope that isn’t the case; as I really like their wares.

No problem... I was just seeing if others out there may know what's what....I know this is a good player and hope there's support for whomever may buy it after your in-depth and thorough review

I do agree with your comparison between the QP2R and the QPM, 2R to me is definitely the more neutral and laid back one but is warm and robust on all fronts to sound musical. Whereas the QPM has better extension and sounds more exciting than the 2R. Brighter top notes, improved sense of clarity and separation, an no doubt has the highest resolution among its predecessors. The bass also slams with viscosity, grittier than the 2R. What is more apparent to me is that with more information, the musical warmth is being extracted from the M. Gives two different perspectives on how you want to enjoy your source. edit: Velvety smooth for QP2R while QPM follows a quasi-Sabre sound

@gutb1 ”clean and neutral” are far from the word “sucks.” Clean and neutral here mean there is no coloration to the sound, like the QP2R or pretty much and Shanling have. I understand that clean and neutral can mean boring and analytical sometimes, but not here. There is a crispness to the sound, which to me clearly separates it from “boring & analytical.”

It is dynamic in its presentation by being clean with the clarity of few I have heard. The QPM is about as dynamic as the sound can get when we consider clarity, from my experiences only. The sound is not rich or warm like the QP2R or my Shanling M6P, but it is dynamic nonetheless.

The build quality was taken singularly in and of itself, not in relation to anything else. If so, that would have been labeled “upgrade.” I’m sorry you could not see the difference.

The QPM is far from flat and boring, note how I mentioned the soundstage has excellent height. Not everything needs to have miles wide soundstage to be considered good.

Last, I’m sorry you do not like the style in which I write. I chose not to include much on the innards, as that is secondary to me after how it sounds. Plus, others are better at the technical details than I. Thank you for the feedback, I do appreciate it, but might I suggest being a bit less aggressive in the future with your responses? Consider my view as one of many, and some will have more expertise in the technicalities than I.

Cheers.
