When you mentioned the 2 Sennheisers, I thought that Solar maybe comes closest to the HD700 (which I have, but I've also auditioned the 650 & 800 twice before buying that one) signature.
The SG 2.98 is an amazing cable indeed, I also use it on my Solar.
Just curious: did you use the 4 or 8 stranded version?
