Thank you. This is the only reason I have not purchased the classic HD800 due to harsh treble. I am also considering thr HD800S because the prblem peak treble issues are supposed to be much smoother based on head-fi reviews which i have read so far.

Do you know that the Sennheiser engineers actually did that, or are you speculating? I'm not sure myself hence why I'm asking. If it is just speculation best to add that into the review so others don't assume it is fact. If it is fact well then I learned something new!

@Sonic Defender maybe not verbatim, but there was a well documented issues with the treble according to reviewers, however this is not like the Anax mod. It is not dampening, but the intended effect of both was treble reduction. While we may not know if the Sennheiser people were familiar with the Anax mod (they probably were), their solution is quite different in execution. So I suppose that's both a "maybe" and a "no"
