Great review! Thanks for taking your time for this :) I wanna ask tho, if PM4 was given as a blind test (sorta) how much do you think it'll cost haha

Thanks man!
Around the 350-500$ mark, maybe. The PM4 really sounds quite stellar for the price.

Great review, but it is feeding my unhappiness about waiting for the 6!

Thanks a lot, this seems to be a really fine choice for soul/funk as well (not only jazz)?

I don't listen to much soul and funk, but the PM4 sounds very life-like, in particular with male vocals.

The 9018 sounded good with the PM4? I'm currently using my 9018 SPDIF with my PM4 and find that the bass become bloated and shallow.

The 9018 USB is what I am using most of the time. What filters are you using?

Nice review and thanks.  I noticed you have gold filters in your review yet my PM4 that I've been waiting for since June came with 2 pairs silver, 1 pair gunmetal and 2 pair purple.  I can hear the refinement in sound quality; better mids and treble as well as more control in the lower regions but I have to say, comparing the Delta I and II to PM4, I prefer the lower regions far better on the Delta II as it's sounds more list the artist intended (I know as I used my own samples).  I wish the PM had its current mids + treble with the lower of the Delta II.... this would have been my perfect IEM under $400.  Now I'm worried about the PM6 I ordered :frowning2:.

Hey mate,

Thanks for being one of the few to review this particular model. Was wondering how you felt it stacked up against conventional models of the next price bracket -

would the SE535/UM3x/W4R/UE900 etc. be worth the additional $100 or so? Or does this 'wow' sufficiently to knock it out of the park? I have a rather unique mod of the UM3X and i'm considering trading it in for one of these.

Thanks a bunch.

I wouldn't trade either IEMs for the PM4 to be honest. They are good, but not that good. The PM4 really suffers from the inconsistent upper-mid/treble response. There is also a reworked version on the way, so you might want to hold on to your gear.

@lordsinister
Yeah, the Bass is also ever present. It can sound bloated and somewhat wierd with some sources. I don't like the silver filters at all. Purple undampned is my only choice nowadays. I never heard the Delta, hence my knowledge is rather limited about that particular model. I don't really use the PM4 anymore, as my preferences go towards neutral and slightly mid-forward signatures. I like sub-bass, but the PM4 has some moderate roll-off. The PM4 is too bassy for me, with excessive mid-bass emphasis.

Trinity has really lost me over these last weeks with their antics.

@FUYU
Your last comment made me upset. So you do not like PM4 anymore? Previously you evaluated these EMS as a good 350-500 earphones, not anymore? What would be your updated conclusion about PM4? thank you

". I don't really use the PM4 anymore, as my preferences go towards neutral and slightly mid-forward signatures "

Don't get me wrong, the Master 4 are great for what they do, but I strife for more neutrality. Also, these IEMs are all in the 350+$ range MSRP.

Weird that you're getting a bassy response with the PM4. I have the Xduoo X3 myself and bassy or even warm is something that I can't say about the PM4. I have tried several Trinity IEMs and still have my Delta V2 with me and I would say, this is probably Trinity's most neutral-sounding IEM that I have heard from them.
Did you use the X3 by itself and still found it bassy?
