I did a lot of research before I bought the WA2. I do not remembering there being a comparison by one individual of the three amps you have listed. It was actually difficult to find a comparison of the WA2 to any other amp. I would suggest doing a search in this sub-forum using WA2 as the search term. You will get a reasonable number of hits to have a look at. Unfortunately in-depth comparisons are few and far between.

cheers

I did more than 100 hours of searches and cross-searches and found one old post in which a member heard a Woo2 along a SP in a brief and noisy comparison at a meet

He still preferred the Woo

but he didn't explain why and the conditions were way too improper for a detailed comparison.
Now I believe I figured out the presentation, the 'personal touch' of these amps but I still can't be sure of how they match up it terms of the 'objective performance' like detail, dynamics, transparency, control. For that I need somebody who has compared both.

Any other owners out there??

Wont Jack do pretty much anything if you spec it out and pay the required folding? Hasnt he done balanced versions as 'one offs' ?

From what I've read here, I think you are right. Unfortunately, I've tried to contact someone at Woo three times using the website 'contact us' emailer but no one has gotten back to me. Maybe that web function is broken.

Does anyone have an actual email address for Jack (or anyone else) at Woo??

As long as I am online, yes

I have a WooAudio3, and it's a terrific amp for the money.

Jack always replies to me in 12 hrs - time gap permitting. Have you heard yet?

In fact he got back to me in less than 5 hours.

I mentioned the lack of response to his website email and he said that there was some work done to the server and he will look into it.

In other news, he stated: "True balanced outputs are not possible with the current version." (This is in reference to the WA2.)

I suspect I won't be able to resist for too long and may pull the trigger on one of these within the month. Current lead time is 3-4 weeks.

Just so you know... well managed / disciplined vendors (who are small) like Woo Audio... do not respond to their emails, until a scheduled time each day - in Jack's instance it's usually around 8:00 PM ET, or after. MAD is very similar. And... sometimes it may be a couple of days, or so.

"That's a good thing."

They simply can't respond to every "tire kicker" throughout the day - or, they'd never be able to deliver anything.

So... don't be alarmed, if you don't receive a reponse for a day, or two - they're busy building amps!

Oh I know that the micro sellers can take some time to reply but my original email through the website hadn't been responded to in over a week and the second one went was 3 days old when I finally asked for a direct address here.
As I suspected, based on their rep for customer service, WA hadn't seen either of the emails sent via their server. I think Jack was glad to get the heads-up that there might be a problem there.
Incidentally, he has replied in less than 5 hours to both emails since I got the address here and has answered every question I asked - so their rep for customer service is well deserved in my opinion.
+1 for WA

I bought my Woo 2 about 10 months ago and am very pleased with it. I liked it so much that I asked Jack to custom build me a pair of 300B monoblocks. Here are some pics:

I know about your positive experiences with Woo, I was also pleasantly surprised that you opted for a (high-end ?
smily_headphones1.gif
) monoblock solution to power those hungry speakers as you seem to be knowledgeable of most gear available today (I believe you use the Woo2 also as a pre ?).
However, did you happen to hear other high-ranked tube headphone amps in the 700 - 1500 $ region to be able to compare to the Woo2 ? Particularly those of the neutral and exact variety which boast more detail, nuance and generally transparency ? Edit: I read about the differences you noted between the Woo and the DV332. If you could give a little more detail on the above points or you also heard it along other amps I'd appreciate your opinions.
