Does anyone know if I can use a 6386 tube in the Maverick D1 plus designed for 5670? I have a JJ 6386LGP I got for my MHDT DAC that I want to use in the Maverick D1 plus.

Have you yet tried those Jan GE 5670W tubes? How do they stand against the 396A?
Haven't ever gotten around to trying those, but thanks for the reminder.

I like a WE 396A in my Vali 2++ better than a JAN 5670W. It's more detailed and open.
I've been listening to my Feliks Echo MK2 with JAN GE 5670W+ adapters. Dynamics and speed are greatly improved over the 6N1P/6922/6DJ8 type. Tonality is very well balanced, with a pair of WE396a on the way. How do they perform in the bass department?

One of the best things about the GE 5670 is that they are a really nice bang-for-the buck value. I've seen cases where some people actually preferred the GE to the 396A, and of course vice versa. Probably depends on your gear.

For the amps I have compared the two in, I generally find the GE (I have the 5-star white version) 5670 to have more bass bloom, slightly rolled-off on the top end, but sounds slightly wider in stage, while the WE396A I just find to be more refined across the board - more control, finer details by comparison.
