Anyone compared the RS2x to GH2/4?
A while ago I did. The GH2 is warmer to me, the RS2x offers maybe a bit more details, and more treble overall. Did not hear them back to back recently, so I have to pass on minute differences.

Anybody handy? I cant remove these tight screws even with a vise grip for leverage. I tried both directions too just in case.

I want to remove and plop drivers into SR60.

Hm, maybe a drop of MOS2 oil at the side of the screw head?

FWIW: For me it would be similar characteristics for GH2 vs RS1x, the latter being somewhat more detailed (haven’t heard the RS2x though)

I'd add that the RS1x has less bass than both the GH2 and the RS2x with GH2 > RS2x > RS1x in that regard.
The RS1x has the most focus on the mids of those three

That is kind of sad to hear. Every so often I see a deal on an RS1X and am tempted. There is a used one on CAM and an open box at a store I frequent. I LOVE my GH2's (actually wearing them right now), but I couldn't go with less bass.

I still say that because of its triwood construction and new 'x' generation driver, RS1x requires the most / lenghtiest break-in period -- affecting bass propagation inter alia. Certainly, my RS1x with Icon Audio HP8 is not bass deficient!

How would you compare it to your GH2, bass wise?

Bass in GH2 is a bit stronger. GH2 has a warmer overall tonal balance.

Speaking of GH2, or of Grados in general: here is an inexpensive ($149* black, $159* silver) headphone amplifier that pairs uncannily well :

* Price excludes shipping, taxes, tube upgrades.

I currently consider the Asgard 3, the class A mode used for lower output should work well for Grados I think. Did you try that one as well?
