I know these lists.
But I wanted an opinion for a well performing player/DAC. The chip itself is not a guarantee for a good presentation.
Now I'm waiting for the long long shipping of one Parasound D/AC 1000 ( 2 x PSM63 )

Well... I think pretty much anything that incorporated PCM63 has had some time spent on the other components; most of those companies are high-end brands. I imagine that the Parasound will give you a suitable impression of the chip.

Let us know how it sounds compared to other chips/DACs/CDPs you've heard.

The Monarchy M24 Tube Dac uses this chip... and is simply outstanding! Sounds great with all my phones, especially the Senn HD580/600s and HD650s. The reviewers say its virtually as good as the $17,000 Reimyo. I wouldn't know... but, for $850 (demo price) - its all most would want - one heck of a value - especially when you consider the Line Stage circuit you get with it.

And... the new NM24 has both tube output, and SS output at a higher sampling rate.

And... the really huge bonus is... you can get yourself a Gold Series RCA to 1/4 in Y Adapter cable at Radio Shack and hook up your phones directly to the Line Out circuit, and eliminate the need for a headphone amp. The Line Stage is as good as my DV332 with most all my phones.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but,

I'm looking for a similar dac. I've heard that parasounds are excellent but I don't know the differences between them... Does anyone know?

Also, what's a good price for them?
