IE 600 in the family. I was someone who asked for a lay-person's ie900. Hope it lives up to the expectations. Imagine an in-ear industry standard that wasn't the ER4.
How come HD 660S advertised as 150ohm on all the marketing material but here in the video its 120ohm? Also, have Sennheiser started shipping Made in Ireland HD 660S?
I had both 600 and 650 and I prefer the 600 slightly better. The 650 has a wamer mid and maybe too much for my taste. The most impressive Sennheiser headphone I had is the HD 540G.
Haven't got a chance to try to 660 But it's great to see them cooming with new idea to refresh the line.
Hello,
Unfortunately, I belong to the group that didn't like the Sennheiser at all.
For a short time I had the Hd600, which is supposed to be good for tube amplifiers, attached to the Feliks Euforia.
And I really didn't like it.
Many people compared it with the Lcd 2C and I have to say that the comparison is very misleading.
The Lcd 2C is much better than the Hd600.
What bothered me the most was the bass on the Hd600. i found this knocking quite annoying in the long run.
The mids were quite acceptable, the highs perhaps had a bit too much energy for me.
I was also annoyed by the fabric on the upholstery, which starts to itch over time, and a touch too much pressure.
In the end, I went with the Lcd 2C, and rightly so, with a much better and cleaner sound and better comfort.
Don't get me wrong, negative criticism is also part of it. I don't know if I got a bad pair of headphones, which would also be possible.
Try the ify ican amp with the sennheisermod settings I think is a better choice.
Eq is okay, but it destroys the sound and lacks texture and authenticity or takes away a good bit.
With bass, I would also be careful that it doesn't bleed into the middle, which can get very messy.
I've come to embrace all of the headphones in the HD600 series. They have a very strong resemblance to each other sonically but are also balanced differently enough to all be interesting contenders in their own right. My all round favorite is probably the HD660S2 followed by the HD600.
