Use it every day. Although many of the filters sound worse than straight from Roon. It's really all about sound preference and synergy. Just because something upsamples something using the densest algorithm there is doesn't mean it sounds good to you or on your system. Just my two pennies. Ramen.

Not really on the RN6. All told I didn't do that many anyway. But with some less well-built IEMs you might want to limit it.

As far as 'the hobby' or "why i stick around," i would say, in this order: 1) chasing the moments of awe and wonder afforded by listening to music; 2) geeking out a little on the gear, and 3) absorbing all your wonderful thoughts and reactions relating to the first two.

For sure it's not always cost-related. I get "the flow" with Monachaa + Cadmus FE + RU7. Where detail and technicalities are so well-balanced that you just immerse yourself in the musical event as it unfolds...

But it all depends what you are looking for. Tuning-wise, sure, something like the Trios are quite good. I listen to them a lot and am satisfied. They are balanced, coherent, no nasty peaks, etc. And technically they are pretty close to my Trifectas. Except in the areas where it matters most to...

They are very balanced with surprising nuance. Nice mix of detail and warmth. Not bass-heavy, even with the blue nozzles - although mind you I am coming from the Trifectas. Only problem for me is the shallow nozzle.

Gives an extra glow to all the good aspects - width of stage, texture of subbass, dynamic impact - while adding a tiny bit of warm weight to the mids and controlling the treble just the tiniest bit as well. It doesn't alter their character at all, just notches up the smoothness and coherency to 11.
