A little curious, but considering that the Grado blogs are nowhere to be found. Would it be possible to revisit this history segment?

I’m pretty curious when it comes to learning more about this companies history, considering there are a lot of limited edition, headphones released after 2012, so if you if you can do it, I’d like that please.

Also just got a pair of 50th anniversary 325is a week ago.

I'm only saying the two are not the same...

The time's about right... it is my pleasure to introduce to Head-Fi the “Primo DH-40”, taken of a Nakamichi SP-7:

(It isn't as perfect as the HP 1000's DH-57 but like I said, they still are close brothers in sound.)

They could make a good “faux HP 1000” mod, drivers are easy to extract and cheap at 100$ on eBay.

(I was using it with TTVJ flats)

I still have my SP-7 but plan to sell. I transplanted to Grado cups but wasnt impressed because didnt have as good bass extension, so reverterted to stock. Treble was perhaps slightly smoother than SR60 but otherwise pretty similar aside from bass extension difference, imo. It was a neat experiment to try as a Grado fan. fyi, Ive only kept Grado PS500e and instead have been making my own supras with off the shelf drivers.
