LHY UIP USB audio isolator

Gieseler Audio USB Reingen
Seen a photo of a fragment of PCB. It looks transparent - two sides only without a solid ground plane between. It is acceptable for $50 product. Even the model you found for $80 had four layers board.

This is the ADuM4166 USB isolator/regenerator @sajunky refers. It looks well designed and built for USD69 and provides for an external DC power supply.

This is a lowest price I saw!

There is a new isolator in a smaller package, but PCB seems to built on the same concept. It has USB type C input, it is not what I do prefer, but convenient for Macbooks and ultra slim notebooks users. Only $27 which is surprising given what is inside. Posted already on the U2 Poorman DDC thread.

Note of number protection components (which are not cheap) like TVS diodes and polyswitch type overcurrent fuses. A new link $26.

You are always naynay. :)

A product is selling for one month or two and has no negative feedback.
I'm not saying these products don't do a good job price to performance, just not for me to much uncertainty.

Gieseler Audio USB Reingen
I use this going USB into my DI-24HE and makes an improvement. Worth the asking price from my testing.

Not I. I have the pictured solid pure silver sluggo I’ve yet to try - very temporarily - as a proof of concept in a few devices incl the UIP. Will be different to an audiophile fuse of course which won’t have the same current throughput but will have RFI and or vibration damping materials the sluggo lacks.

Interesting. I see they have Rhodium, Silver, and solid and hollow. Which do you recommend?

I can’t recommend any yet, but I thought I’d try solid silver, Xangsane have a good reputation for using high quality silver in their cables.

Note it is not a fuse, so I can’t recommend replacing a fuse with this and leaving it, would be a potential fire and electrical shock hazard in the event of an internal short or component failure. In practice of course this is very low likelihood (I’ve never had a fuse blow in any component in decades of use) but super high consequence if it does. Do so at your own risk/ caveat emptor!
