Rega Planet 2000 VG condition, with upgrades)

I am the third owner of this wonderful sounding CD player. Previous owner purchased it in 2006 from a CAM member and I bought it in the end of 2020. This player has been working flawlessly since. I believe I still have the original receipt somewhere (from the prev. Owner). The player is in excellent functional and cosmetic condition, with a few minute marks on the case that are only visible from certain angles and under specific lighting conditions. The laser mechanism has been rock solid with no skipping or any other tracking issues. The sound is Rega and more for sure, I love this red-book player and will miss it dearly. I'll eat the Paypal fees. Shipping at cost. Thx for looking!

“In 2011 I (very gently) upgraded the electronics of the player by replacing all of the very cheap factory installed Samxon and Samwha electrolytic capacitors with high quality upgrades: Panasonic FC for the power supplies, Nichicon PW for decoupling and matched Nichicon MUSE for signal path coupling. In addition, all of the cheap ceramic capacitors were replaced with tight tolerance C0G Class 1 dielectric ceramics. I have not modified or changed the circuit in any other way, since the sound of the original unit was already excellent. The sound of the player has been notably improved by the capacitor replacement, with better definition of low frequencies, improved dynamics and increased detail. I have attached several photos of the unit internals, including the solder side. In case anyone has any concerns about workmanship quality, I am an engineer and I am very skilled with electronics rework and repair. This player makes an excellent "Red Book" source for anyone looking to create an affordable audiophile system.”

I totally agree. Why selling? I am moving to an all digital system/or new Rega, haven't decided yetdue my conversion to headphones with an amp/dap combo. I’ll ship to anywhere but check the costs as the dimensions and weight are: 27" x 20" x 9" and 15.85 Lbs. as I will Double Box this baby.…Trades? I'll look at open-back headphones or a DAP of similar value, etc.
