Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
Besides your (Android) phone, what USB device have you successfully connected to your car USB? Have you been able to connect another non-Android player? What about a large thumbdrive with all you tracks? It is very possible that your car only support Android devices (or Apple CarPlay) and, in...- XTF1

Digital to analog music transfer through USB………. Are you sure? AFAIK the R2 or R3 don’t transfer analog music through USB.- XTF1

What does your car “expect” to see on the USB port? A USB mass storage? A digital source?- XTF1

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01
Just re-read this comment from Hiby about the M300 src (Android 13): https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hiby-digital-m300-android-digital-audio-player-the-gen-z-music-player-discussion-thread.970428/page-2#post-17816663 They mention a bug limiting the bandwidth to 24kHz unless touch panel feedback...- XTF1

Android 14 and "USB Lossless" ...what does it even mean?
There may have been some problems with src implementation on some Android phones. See Hiby’s comments about the M300 here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hiby-digital-m300-android-digital-audio-player-the-gen-z-music-player-discussion-thread.970428/page-2#post-17816663 Note that the M300 is...- XTF1

Head-Fi has a mechanism for the granting of medals... Could something similar be used for users to report a potential troll or sealion? No ban or posting restriction, but something like a low-bar: “you’ve been tagged as potential troll or sealion… the community is watching you…” I think that...- XTF1

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
I was mostly interested into the earpads as a possible inexpensive aftermarket replacement. The headband and earpads on my 5909 are still in great condition, so I haven't had to replace anything.- XTF1

NEW HiBy R4
When you say the Shanling H2 ran fine, did you confirm that every single track on your SD was playing fine? It could be that the H2 saw the exact same error, but choose to ignore it instead of trying to fix it and/or aborting the scan—which would be a worse error handling IMO…- XTF1

Mark Levinson № 5909 headphone
I have not disassemble the headband—no need so far—so can’t help. But I got a set of replacement headband and earpads from AliExpress that look to be from the same vendor: same exact pictures. They are utter garbage. Quality is absolutely terrible, the stitches are black instead of red and are...- XTF1

iPhone vs. Android via USB-C sound quality difference is huge
In addition to perfect level matching, you would need to find somebody to randomly swap the phones for you and restart the track you left. Otherwise, it is a sighted test, and I’m sure you’ll “hear” differences: nothing wrong with that, it’s just how our brain is wired… So, although there...- XTF1

iPhone vs. Android via USB-C sound quality difference is huge
Really? Go for it, explain your process and the results. Do you still have the FreeDSP cable? Same night and day difference? Can you also do a blind test with that cable? I suspect it’s an app self-imposed limit, not a HW constraint…- XTF1

iPhone vs. Android via USB-C sound quality difference is huge
I don’t have Dusk, but have a few Moondrop FreeDSP cables—allegedly the same cable. Subjectively, I have not noticed any difference between my iPhone (lightning + adapter) and Android. The FreeDSP shows up as a UAC-2 compliant audio device, supported by both iOS and Android. The DSP settings...- XTF1
