FIIO 2024 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

If you keep track of the times when streaming apps stop supporting a certain version of Android and see which versions of Android are being adopted on current DAPs, you'll notice that your device's battery will fail before you can no longer update an streaming app. Other than that, there is...

FIIO 2024 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

On cell phones there are many distractions from social media and instant messaging apps. I don't think it's always advantageous for a time when you just want to listen to music (whether via streaming or local files).

FIIO 2024 New Product Schedule-From FIIO James

If you really need more power, but there is a problem with your smartphone's battery life, I think the solution is to buy a DAP (Digital Audio Player). Personally, I find it more interesting than portable DAC/amp that are the size of a DAP and still have to connect them to a cell phone.

FiiO M15S Pocket Desktop-Level Player Discussion & Impressions Thread

@FiiO The FiiO M11S DAP has the same issue mentioned in the M15S firmware changelog: "device crash in Pure Music mode". In the last firmware update for the M11S I didn't see this being mentioned. Please fix it.

The ideal is to adjust the volume via software for precision in volume matching, as the video below shows.

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

I have already accessed the app's audio quality settings and selected the maximum (Hi-Res Lossless) on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. Additionally, I left the cache limit at maximum (5GB). Even using the FiiO M11S connected to my home's Wi-Fi, Apple Music reduces the resolution to "Lossless" every...

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

If I don't have different devices with different operating systems to correctly identify the source of the problem, there is no way to infer that the behavior is coming from Apple Music or the FiiO software. Note, I don't work as an Apple Music developer, much less as a FiiO developer.

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

I'm not confusing anything. It is only a charge in relation to the development of the streaming app and DAP FiiO software. Just it. The discussion is not about the Hi-Res sticker, marketing or resolution, but rather about what was promised by the companies responsible. It is up to the consumer...

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

That's not the point. I don't care about the resolution itself. I just want them to deliver what was promised... Don't confuse things.

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

@FiiO, I just discovered a peculiar behavior in Apple Music. If I download songs from an album that is available in "Hi-Res Lossless", playback will occur as it should and the files will play in "Hi-Res Lossless". Only when I don't download it does that same album play in "Lossless".

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

@FiiO , as the friend said, other DAP manufacturers had problems with the latest Apple Music updates, requiring them to release a new firmware update for their Digital Audio Players (Hiby and Shaling had to do this as far as I know).

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

@FiiO I tested several tracks by musicians who play Bach and Chopin. It's something general on Apple Music, it doesn't need to be something specific. As for testing an earlier version, I haven't yet tested installing an Apple Music APK for this. However, I didn't want to have to resort to that...

New FiiO M11S Player with dual ES9038Q2M DACs, 670mW output power and 14 hours of battery life

@FiiO , after the latest updates to Apple Music and Apple Music Classical, I noticed that songs no longer play in "Hi-Res Lossless", just "Lossless", even though the app says the album is in "Hi-Res Lossless" .

Considering that the DAP's main function is to play music and the user will install music streaming applications, how important are Android security updates for this purpose? In my opinion, the biggest issue is the support that the streaming app developer provides for a given version of Android...

FiiO has already stated that it is possible to update all models with the Snapdragon 660 to Android 12. This way, just search for the SoC on the DAP page to find out whether or not the device is eligible for the update from Android 10 to Android 12.

    FiiO M23, AK4191EQ+AK4499EX, THX AAA-78+, Dual Type-C Ports, Dual-Core Fast Charging, 1000mW+1000mW @32Ω

Apple Music is not bit perfect via USB. The volume is still enabled on the FiiO M11S. I even asked FiiO about this. At the time, I reported about the lack of bit perfect in Apple Music and they released an update to make the DAC's sample rate keep up with Apple Music, but that's all that has...

FiiO has previously said in other topics and forums on the internet that its DAPs have a modified version of Android in such a way that there is no interference in audio reproduction, allowing for bit perfect.

If you use the DAP's headphone outputs, you can get the bit perfect in any app. However, when connecting the DAP via USB to a DAC, you will not get bit perfect in all cases. Only Tidal is capable of natively delivering bit perfect when connecting the DAP to a DAC via USB. Qobuz depends on the...
