Aegis DIY Tube Headphone Amplifier
Miflex are really big caps. I had a pair in a bottlehead s.e.x. amp and I couldn't really get anything sonically from them. They rate really high, but brought nothing for me. I'd love to give them another chance because the price of the smaller .uf is great, but I'd stick to the big three...- DenverW

ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)
Speaking of choosing tubes, I've got quite a few tubes I was using off and on with the Bigger Ben, and wondered if anyone had experience with them in the Nautilus (or even if they'd work based on the power in the Nautilus). Some have adapters, like the 6ar6 tubes, or the 6889. The bendix 6889...- DenverW

ZMF Aegis Official Thread
Let the amp and capacitors burn in for a bit first. My Aegis had a steady improvement for the first two weeks. If you throw in new tubes too quickly you may get a misguided impression of what the new tube is doing.- DenverW

I tell you, it’s getting a little tricky sometimes shopping for NOS tubes online. There’s a listing that looks like a gec kt66 labelled ARS, but digging in it turns out to be Chinese new production. It was too good to be true!- DenverW

Indeed, the Nautilus. It is very long, but not so deep. Basically just a little bigger in length than the aegis, but actually fits just as well on the shelf as the Aegis did. I really need to get a better audio rack/shelf; the one i'm using is a converted bookshelf, and is pretty terrible...- DenverW

What a great time to have a holiday weekend? Moved some gear around in order to try some new things! This amp is just as good as I remember from canjam socal. Smooth and effortless. Testing out a Modhouse Tungsten Double Magnet and it's weekend fun! On the Atrium closed separation and...- DenverW

That should be fine, but I always defer to LG. It's a bit more, but I'd also look at: https://partsconnexion.com/collections/duelund-capacitor-collection/products/duelund-0-22uf-630vdc-cast-pio-cu-ag-hybrid-copper-silver-foil-capacitor?_pos=4&_fid=2278feb94&_ss=c- DenverW

I haven't been able to demo the E3, but have heard excellent things about it. In regards to the stealth and expanse, I was not a fan of the stealth. I found it completely lacking in engagement, which is unfortunately something that I've found in DCA tuning for quite a while. The expanse was...- DenverW
