...and you "re-biased" the chip by yourself ? Or did you send it back to Lab12 ?

I did it myself with all the warnings and disclosures that it should be done by someone that is trained with an oscilloscope. They said a voltmeter is "fine". and just to be clear this is the DAC1 SE (not the balanced version).

I'm really enjoying this DAC ... It has texture and body with nice detail retrevial. Its real nice for pop / indie vocalists.
