Selling my beloved Metrum Onyx which I use for my HD800 setup. For those unfamiliar, with the Onyx you get at least 90+% of the performance of the famed Metrum Pavane.

Furthermore, the Onyx has the more advanced DAC2 chips which has twice the processing power of the L1 Pavane's original chips bringing them close to parity.

This is a high quality NOS DAC which means the soundstage is deep and tall and the sound image is large and clear. The sound is very natural and organic.

Price is VERY GOOD for this unit. This DAC is the crown jewel in my audio set up but I am currently strapped for cash after some other ill advised purchases.

I have owned the HD800 for a long time and I've tried CHORD Mojo, HUGO, HUGO2, Schiit Gungnir Multibit, Audio-GD DAC19, Ref 5.32, Ref 7, Bottlehead Crack, Mainline and without a doubt, the Metrum Onyx and Pavane sounded head and shoulders above EVERY one of those DACs. The HD800 retained its renowned clarity, soundstage, imaging, etc. but now deep bass, mid bass and midrange all became fleshed out and sounded so much bigger and better. It's a headphone match made in heaven.
