I personally find this dac in the same ball park as the chord qutest except in my set up the qutest was a touch more analytical in its etching of sounds.
However this is not a warm dac. Maybe a touch softer or smoothed off edges compared to the qutest that I sometimes considered that it had to my ears.
Some would prefer the qutest some this.
YMMV, IMHO. My 2c.

As I understand this is extremely similar to the MQA version, except for the MQA feature not being in this dac.
This item was discontinued after the MQA was an added feature
