Very rare Omega TS3 single driver loudspeakers with gorgeous reflective Red Parisian Maple cabinets and black grills.

These are somewhat larger and heavier than the standard TS3, making them even more rare. I measured each speaker at 18 pounds 11.4 ounces, with 15.5" height, 7.5" width and 12" depth, or an extra half inch depth with the grill on. (Compare to the official specs at the bottom.)

Omega is well-regarded among audiophiles for their single driver speakers like the Super Alnico Monitor. The TS3 is from their early days, before they made their own drivers.

There is minor damage on one of the drivers, but I was told it does not affect anything, and I do not hear a difference between the two speakers. There is also a bit of damage to the wood on the rear bottom corner of one along with a few other spots, as well as the occasional scratch and smudge, but I would say the overall condition is still quite good, considering they were made between 2002 and 2004.

I wiped the speakers and grills with a damp paper towel, but they could look even better if you clean them with professional quality. Note that some of the cosmetic imperfections in the photos are merely fingerprints and wipe marks that are easily cleaned off. There are also reflections that can look like smudges due to the lighting and angle.

Due to their rarity and age, these are sold as-is. (No returns, refunds or replacements. Though I can do a shipping insurance claim if they do not work upon arrival.)

My asking price includes the PayPal fee and insured ground shipping to the continental US. (But feel free to make an offer.) Each speaker will be shipped in a separate box.

I would only ship internationally if you cover the full shipping cost (with insurance, and sale price value declared) and take responsibility for any import-related costs like taxes.

I may consider a trade if you are in the US and can add at least $150 cash on top. I would especially be interested in headphones or a headphone amp.

If you want deep sub-bass, you will need a subwoofer. (This is the case for most speakers that aren't very large.)

The TS3 uses a 5" Shielded Fostex ES cone full-range driver that is modified by Omega Speaker Systems. This driver incorporates a very light cone (2.9 grams) and very strong motor to produce high sensitivity, incredible speed, transparency, and excellent detail. The TS3 is also a perfect point-source and is phase correct. Imaging and soundstage are exceptional. The TS3 is a very compact bass reflex speaker so positioning in your listening room is easy. We chose to manufacture bass reflex systems as oppose to bass horns because the bass reflex system has tighter more accurate bass that goes just as low or lower than bass horns. Cabinets are more compact and easier to place as well as lower in cost to manufacture. Bass reflex cabinets have no horn passage directly behind the driver so damping material can be placed to suppress standing waves and bounce back reflections that cause frequency cancellation and distortion. The TS3 incorporates the same damping techniques as the TS1 and 2 including: Black Hole 5, acoustic foam, fiberglass, ladder bracing, and a semi floating baffle and back. Cabinets are constructed of 3/4" softwood M. D. F. are adhered with polyurethane glues and are veneered on all sides including double veneers on front and back.

Black Hole 5 is a complex multi-layered material only 1-3/8" thick creating a system that combines the three key functions of damping, isolation, and absorption. All layers are laminated together without adhesive to optimize the overall performance of the Black Hole 5 and to eliminate the release of undesirable solvent fumes. The thin diamond pattern embossing, densified with a polyurethane film surface, will dramatically improve performance of the whole acoustical system, especially the sensitive lower mid-range and mid-bass frequencies. A 1" thick polyurethane foam provides highly efficient acoustical absorption. A "dead wall" made with limp flexible vinyl copolymer loaded with non-lead inorganic fillers serves as a vibration isolator. An open cell flexible polyurethane foam allows for dispersion of vibrations from the cabinet wall from the rest of the damping system. Finally a high loss black flexible viscoelastic damping layer with pressure sensitive adhesive provides superior bonding for optimum efficiency of the Black Hole 5.
