Just plugged in the LCDi4 into my new Hugo 2. Holy moly! What a brilliant pairing and definitely one of the most impressive portable setups I've ever heard. Heck, this is right there with an endgame desktop solution too! I still can't believe how big and full these in-ears sound and with the Hugo 2; just a fantastic revelation!

Sweet! Now I pray my i4 don't come DOA and I'll be in bliss with the DAVE. I may have to get my own Hugo2 for portable as it does sound really good IMO.

It's a damned good combination. The Hugo 2's resolution pairs incredibly well with the LCD-i4.

DAVE + LCD-i4 = End game.

Has someone tried LCDi4 with the AK Ultima SP1000 ? in balanced mode ?

SP1000 or HUGO2 ???? will be an interesting comparaison...

While waiting for the replacement premium Audeze cable to arrive, I've received the Onso cable I had ordered.
Bought the Onso iect_03_bl4c_1.2m version. 2pin ciems 4.4mm TRRRS balanced 1.2m length, from Ikebe Music store (outstanding service and communication btw).
Cost me €98 shipping incl to Belgium, the cable itself cost ¥9000. Had to pay €36ish extra for import duties bs.

I really dig this cable. The 2pin connectors had to be pushed harder and fit very snuggly. Very secure, more so than even the right side connector of my Audeze cable which was the good sided one. The dark red color on the cable suits the LCD-i4 well to my taste. It is tangle free. Super easy to store in a pelican 1010.

Sound wise, the pairing between the Sony Wm1a, pure copper balanced cable and LCD-i4 is a great personal match.

This combination seem to be a one great pairing. Looking forward to try it to CanJam London myself. Can you compare a little bit i4 with Ether Flow? Thanks.

I love both the Ether Flow and the LCDi4...both are very natural and even sounding and surprisingly enough, the in-ear LCDi4 has a comparable soundstage with some of the best full sized headphones I've heard. More to come in my review...

I'm glad you guys are enjoying these, I still really want to hear them, especially with Hugo. It has got to be unreal. It's a good feeling when you aren't constantly scanning the internet because you aren't totally happy with your setup. I'm content with my iems, but I've always wanted to try a Hugo. I've had 2 Mojos and I'm just not a fan. Not that it's not a quality amp, just not for me. I do however enjoy my Opus #2.

I have an extra Mojo just sitting that I no longer use. Just those dang funny coloured eye balls looking at me. You can start all over again with your third Mojo. No problemo Mr. Smith, just PM me. I'll sell you that sucker, cheap! It appears that the Hugo 2 for portable use appears to be a winner with many here. As for as AxelCloris states, the DAVE + i-4 is certainly end game sound. I have listened to the DAVE with my Hifman HK1000V2 and Audeze LCDXC and it transformed my audio experience. For the same price as one of my higher end Sim Moon HAD amps, it just brings out such clarity and details that you literally fall back into your chair and get a pleasant ear spanking.

My son loves music but is not an audiophile. Both he and his wife are busy professionals. Their birthdays are both coming up within the next 30 days. I was thinking that a nice amp gifted by 'Pops" to my son would be nice, and for his wife I could throw in a pair of Audeze headphones. It would be a nice excuse for me to purchase a DAVE... It would also give me a good excuse to take some pics of the i4 draped over the DAVE in its wonderful stand. We all deserve nice things.

I joined Head-Fi on May 11 and have really enjoyed posting here. But dang it has been expensive. Wonderfully so!!! Having a background in stereophonics, moving in to head gear has been an interesting journey. Very entertaining. I have waited a very long time for technology like the iSine series to come into being. The i4s have surpassed anything that I could have hoped for. Thank you all for listening to alternative methods by which I communicate my passion for music.

All the best,

Happy Canada Day

So what has Audeze done with the iSines that is so special? They may not be pretty but they are quite accurate from the mid lows on up.

This has been my experience with the LCD i4. Accuracy through and through which for me = realism and enjoyment.

PS My LCDI4s seem to scale better with better amplification than the iSine 20s

I purchased my iSINE 20 to be used portable and the sound is good. Hooking it up to my midfi iFi micro stack at home turned the sound from good to excellent. It's at the point where I could retire all my full-size headphones.
