Monoprice Monolith M565C closed planar headphones impressions thread
Thanks for your response, it's very helpful. Can you elaborate on what do you mean by the quote above? They are almost open in the sense that they are not over-dampened like the M1060C?- 10000days

Monoprice Monolith M565C closed planar headphones impressions thread
I do not own these (yet). I owned the M1060C and was blown away by them with the open-back mod and they were still very impressive with the cups on as well. I sold them because they were way too heavy - worst mistake of my life. Now I am extremely curious about the sound of the M565C.- 10000days

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
After two weeks of owning these, ranking all planars I've owned so far: 1. Monolith M1060C (open-mod) - nearly flawless with EQ, most detailed of all, best bass and slam, godlike imaging 1. Audeze LCD-2 Classic - nearly flawless with EQ, tonality is SO on-point until 4khz, best dynamics and...- 10000days

AKG K702 Impressions.
I detest the stock tuning of K702 but love the driver's technicalities (so fast and detailed), so I created this EQ in Peace. Surprisingly, the driver can handle a lot of bass shelf with minimal distortion, EQ made these headphones so much more fun. Preamp: -8 dB Filter 1: ON LSC Fc 125 Hz Gain...- 10000days

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?
Agreed 100%, these are simply wonderful, from the smoothness of the mids and highs, to the instruments body and the punch in midbass, insane stuff ... if only they did sub-bass better. The imaging on these is the best I've ever heard btw.- 10000days

AKG K702 Impressions.
Yes. The K702 has a similar (but improved - less treble, more low end) sound signature as K501.- 10000days

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
I'm glad to hear that! :) I made it by ear when listening to the most complex music I could find in my collection so I can sense any potential ringing and resonances. https://headphonetestlab.co.uk/test-results-manufacturers-e-h-hifiman-sundara If you take a look at Sundara's CSD you'll see...- 10000days

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
Yes. I put the 9500hz high shelf filter there in order to add extra air easily if I ever feel like it. At -3db it should neutralize the other high shelf filter, at +0db it adds some spiciness in the upper treble.- 10000days

Focal Elegia - what do you think?
Haven't owned an audiophile closed-back headphone in ages. Is the Focal Elegia the best option for 500$? I can also get the Denon D7200 for 550$ and the HIFIMAN HE-R9 for 400$, the Campfire Cascade for 550$.- 10000days

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
Sure, I've attached a screenshot. Adjust bass to your own taste (105hz value) and tell me what you think. Remember it's not supposed to sound perfectly "Harman neutral". With this profile the headphones are still slightly dark, any more extra energy in the mids kinda ruin their tonality imo.- 10000days
