Good morning from Vienna, I have the pleasure of owning a Mjölnir since last week and i find the sound extremely stunning and detailed and I am very pleased. It does not look this heavy on the photos but indeed it is build like a tank. Maybe you can help me with 2 questions. I come from the...- AlfeedE

Dan Clark Audio EXPANSE Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Interesting - everybody trying to defend a Headphone which maybe under the most excellent conditions and if everything falls in Place given the right stellar constellation might sound as good as other excellent headphones except that for the Expanse one you have to but over-TOTL something just...- AlfeedE

The price for the Lotoo Mjölnir is really something, I would be willing to invest if the music sounds really superior. But the specs stated on the Lotoo homepage sound rather not so sophisticated? AK 4499 EQ seems to be an older chip - and there is only one in the Mölnir - whereas the AK SP3000...- AlfeedE

Thank you for this insight. So this would suggest that the AK SP3000 is the better solution? As it delivers a house sound?- AlfeedE

A hearty welcome from Vienna. I have the possibility to get my hands on one of the last units out there. Momentarily I own the AK SP 3000 with the PA 10. As IEM I own the VE Aura and my headphones are the Final D8000 Pro Ltd. And now my question: What‘s your opinion should I stick to the SP 3000...- AlfeedE

Dan Clark Audio EXPANSE Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Yes I got that. I think it is not a got idea - at least for me - to build my system around an insensitiv headphone. I want my existing audiophile equipment to sound as good as possible. And the Expanse is simply not capable of achieving this task. What a shame. Glad I have found the D8k Pro…- AlfeedE

Dan Clark Audio EXPANSE Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I tried the fabeled Expanse several days ago at my local headphone shop with my Astell & Kern SP3000 together with the AK PA10. Luckily I can say that this combo can drive the cans. Unfortuantely I find the sound of the Expanse rather harsh and unpleasant and lacking musicality. I also tried the...- AlfeedE

Thank you for the quick reply NOMAX. Has it still too less power together with the AK PA10?- AlfeedE

Dan Clark Audio EXPANSE Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Hello from Vienna, I hope that you can give me some advice - I am really interested in the DCA Expanse but I have heard that this headphone is quit power hungry. Now my equipment is the Astell & Kern SP 3000 and the PA10. Would this be a good pairing, has it enough power for a satisfying...- AlfeedE

I just cannot understand this constant whining about what the SP3000 cannot do or will not allow. It‘s a brillant DAP! No more no less. If you are not satisfied go buy something else (if you have the money) and stop this nagging.- AlfeedE

Open inherit much more danger. You would then cry about system failure. Everybody knows what you can expect from SP3000: Great musicality! No more no less. It is not totally open!? So what!!! If it does not suit your needs - go buy something else!!!- AlfeedE
