PANDORA (open source console)
The first completed Pandora prototype (FDM) has been made: YouTube - Pandora prototype in action A few things to keep in mind before viewing the video: Quote: It is FDM, so it doesn't look very good. The final one will be smooth and shiny. There is no battery in it, so when he...- Azure

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
Ah, so it's finally here. Likes others have been saying, it does look to be inspired by the SA5000 or Qualia 010. I definitely wasn't expecting that high of a price tag, but it's MSRP and you can get the HD600/650 for much less than their MSRP. I wonder if it'll be customizable if each one is...- Azure

PANDORA (open source console)
I'm really glad to see the Pandora made its way over to Head-Fi. I've been following this thing since the beginning and can't way for it to come out. From SNES to PSX to DOS, emulation on this thing is going to be amazing (they've got Warcraft 2 running just fine via DOSBOX!). And it can...- Azure

The SA5000s didn't really sound anemic to me until I compared them directly to the D2000 and the DT990s. By themselves my ear got adjusted to their presentation and they didn't really sound anemic/thin and I swore by the SA5000s. However, I then got some D2000s and DT990s and did some direct...- Azure

Soundstage versus Bass..?
The very first headphone that came to my mind when I read soundstage and bass was the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. I had the 2005 model and I felt that an airy soundstage and punchy bass were its strong points (I have not heard the older version, however). I doubt you can find them for under $200...- Azure

Berkeley Meet?
TDRKZ - Sure, what gear can everybody else bring? And, uh, it looks like aaron313 might not be able to make it (banned??)? I might be able to do September 14th 1-5pm. I didn't have any class today so I wasn't able to find out when my midterms/essays will be. Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow.- Azure
