Love Science - especially Quantum Mechanics(anyone who claims to "understand" it - is either psychotic, or lying). Airgun shooting. Nature, and learning fun new stuff. Next thing i got to learn: networking/wifi..... I dread it/se absolutely no fun in that! That is the first piece of tech were i feel totaly in the dark - I'm Old!

Headphone Inventory

Shure SRH940, Koss PortaPro, Philips CitiScape Fixie SHL5305. Wireless(from my A/V HP out): Sennheiser SR180+HDR170(Headset)
As of Black friday 2018: AKG K240 studio (500 SEK, $US 50?). Expected nothing...weak bass, no wow-feeling. Since i got them - If headphones, i go for them automatical, can't explain - they are just "right"...weird!?

Headphone Amp Inventory

Korg DS-DAC 100m (USB-DAC/HP Amp): Good DAC, not the best HP-Amp.(comes with a licens for AudioGate4)
"zero zone : HV-10-RA1" HP-Amp chip on ebay, about $10 without PSU, had one 19V DC that worked: Design has no gain, my "easy to drive" HP's sounded surpricingly good.
Pro-Ject Head Box S (Black): Very good desktop amp, entry level, Built like a Tank!

Source Inventory

Acer laptop(win10) + Korg DS-DAC100m USB-DAC + AudioGate4 + fb2k - software. Rotel RCD-971 HDCD-Player/Technics SL-PG390 CD player(opt out) LiTe DAC-AH/Yamaha CD-N301/Sony SMP-U10(USB-Media player-MP3's)(coax out) LiTe DAC-AH. I ripped selected parts of my LP collection between 2003-2008, first years in MP3, later in wav - about 300 albums of the 1000+ i had.
Sold of my LP's 2015(with equipment) so tired with the hassle, styli's prices. If SQ matters: Price of a "OK CD player" x 3 + knowlidge to config: (grammophone+arm+cartridge+ampstage) = you may get "there". But: "Budget not limiting" = Vinyl sings!
The sound from a PC with a DAC + software, once i learned how to config that - on a budget($500) = as god as my old Rotel CD player (often HD music files sounds better: different production/mastering). The main thing you gain:Comfort!
My main music source today is "filebased", harddrive stored music, playback via PC+DAC - or recently, streamed using fb2k "upnp component"(PC = DLNA server, in my case, without transcoding) to Yamaha CD-N301, that also plays Spotify Connect and vTuner + excellent app controller. I know streaming(web) is the future. But i still prefer a "physical-object", if for nothing else, to se were the money went!

Audio-Related Tweaks

LiTe DAC-AH: modified(by a Pro/not me - bypassing OP-Amps, "cranked" up the juice to the DAC-chips(4 x TDA1543/channel), via a "capacitor" straight to line out.. Re-soldering some line level wires did also some good.

Music Preferences

My Passion: All forms of Progressive Rock/Metal, from the early 70's to today's stuff. At the moment i play: IQ, Mostly Autumn, Porcupine Tree, Epica, Katatonia, Riverside etc. - with some relapses to Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream and my all time favourite band: RUSH live 1980 in Gothenburg(Sweden), 3 hours of musical nirvana!

I have a classic Webley Tracker cal.22, Crossman 2240, Crossman Vigalanty, and some red dot and ordinary scoops. Mostly do target practice, the absolute focus on the target - is calming in a theraputical way....
