The discovery thread!
My excitement was short lived (until I saw the translation!) - Mk3 using planar for highs and BA for mids - I3 Pro uses planar for mids and BA for highs. Given KBears/Tri's recent offerings I fear this will be a step backwards and no doubt with a price hike. I love the i3 pro. I recently...- Barndoor

It's actually quite hard to describe. Fuzzy is a good word but also a bad one. It's almost like the BC confuses the brain so you actually have to concentrate harder on the music to decode the positioning of sounds. It definitely isn't the widest of sound stages, which also doesn't help. They...- Barndoor

was actually listening to the same album when I read this. But was using BQEYZ Wind. Swapped over to the Trio. Massive difference. Trio drivers can't cope with the speed of some of these tracks. Bass seemed bloated, undefined and lacking impact compared to the Wind and guitars sounded unnatural...- Barndoor

Don't be too quick to write off - I wasn't particularly impressed with mine to start with, but did improve significantly with burn in. Also had to do a lot of tip rolling to get the perfect fit to get the most out of the BC. That said, I do use amped (currently in my ear powered by iFi Zen Can -...- Barndoor

Lol, you'd hope so at 5-6 times the price of the Trio (assuming the AliEx pre-order prices are correct)- Barndoor

I kind of get that. My understanding is graphs are frequency sweeps. But what about, if for example, a single piano note was graphed over time? Obviously a single piano note is a frequency range. Would an IEM that is deemed to be technically good have a more defined shape to the range compared...- Barndoor

Mid Fi - General chat for all discussions and general chat a Thread for all.
I'm still struggling as to what classifies as midfi. For those that have heard the CCA Trio, do you think these are midfi? If so or not, why? Obviously the Trio doesn't qualify to those that judge midfi by price, but what about performance? Not trying to create a flame war, just discussion...- Barndoor

Best IEM tips?
The downside to that is they fall off smaller nozzles and get stuck in ears.- Barndoor
