I do think they work. However, you will need to get a socket saver or riser to get them fit, as the base has a bigger diameter, at least on the Shuguang. I think there are posts about this earlier in the thread.

I guess the vmoda boom pro is out of the question as well with the Samson's, as they don't have a detachable cable. The SR850, if anything like the Superlux HD681 or the other models such as the evos, then they are a pretty good bang for the buck. You might want to get some more comfortable...

I in think the bass head thread you are referring to, they are using EQ to crank up the lower regions.

I guess you could buy them on the Interwebz? Which ones do you suspect faulty?

  Swapped the fans for Noctua R8's and put a couple of fan filters on :) Can barely hear them spin.   One other thing, has any of you found a better volume knob? The plastic one feels very cheap. Also do you think it would be possible to fit a stepped attenuator in the amp? I am thinking...

I recently bought a used Little Dot MK VI+, which I am using with a pair of JVC DX1000. Sounds really great, but only when listening through the balanced output. Yeah, I get the famous humm noise through the SE output.   I am driving it through an Audio-gd 10.32 through the balanced outputs...

I like to use epoxy, two component glue. It is super strong and fairly easy to work with.

I haven't tried the a900x, but I am a happy owner of a pair of esw9. One thing you should notice is that the hinges on the esw9 are a bit fragile, which happened with mine and were epoxy glued back together. Soundwise I am really happy about them, however they might sound dark to some people...
