I suggest at minimum to try Spotify if you do not have tidal. Youtube content is at best not suitable to showcase the phone DAC capabilities, and at worst not worth listening to :D

Due to quality Aux/High impedance mode of G7 DAC, you do not need external amplification (because let's face it - with amp you output from g7 in low impedance mode) The only benefit may be lesser battery drain on the phone. What player are you using on G7?

Having FIIo X3III, I can tell you that the LgG7 DAP is of comparable quality, and additionally you can play with the G& internal filters for the DAC. FIIO has inbuilt SW with not so good EQ, while G7 with USB Audio player (if not on bitperfect mode) or Neutron player can be fine EQ'd to...

Tried Sony narrowbore, you lose the good bass. The spiral dots diffuse/mellow the treble for me somewhat. Do not know if it's intended to work like that but the result is better. And it's cheaper than buying the new CCA

What is your source? My suggestion is to burn in the new KZN for 100h (can be music or mix of burnin noises, had better luck with former) then try JVC SpiralDot replacement tips for taming the fatiguing treble. I have now purple (burned in, SpiralDot tips) for home listening and cyan ZSNs...

Well what can I tell you on Metal,80/90 Dance, orchestral Classical and Jazz (not like single instrument) it fares very well even without EQ. If there is a single or majority of high treble instruments, then I switch to ES4, with loss of soundstage width
