Since @maegnificant called dibs on drums, I’ll edit, mix and master. 😋

It ain’t a Questyle without hiss. ;) I remember demoing the QP2R with the EE Zeus, and, apart from hiss, I alao heard static every time I touched the volume wheel. :D Same. I’ve been jumpscared countless times when trying gear right after someone else. I make it a habit to mute amps before I...

That film was my introduction to Gosling, Isaac and Winding Refn; one of my absolute favourites of the 2010’s. They make some pretty darn’ good IEMs, though. Shipping soon… 😉

To be completely honest, I never quite jived with its tone to begin with. I think its technical capabilities still hold up, but there are as many stronger offerings today as there are weaker ones. I’d say it’s in the middle of the pack as far as TOTLs go, which, to be fair, makes its price...

Seriously though, I did include a couple alternatives if you don't like etch-y.

Most of my credos are ones that I've internalized over the years, so I don't know how many I can point out and list. I'm with a lot of the guys here who's philosophy basically boils down to, "Like what you like, and don't care what anyone else thinks." But, if I may list a few unexpected...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Absolutely not. It’s just AK marketing as usual, hoping to get people to buy both their newest items. They did the same with the Layla AION and the SP1000 or 2000.

I tend to like U-shaped IEMs with electronic (Anni, Z1R, Loki, etc.). Not only does the neutral midrange positioning give you a more convex, wrap-around-the-head stage, but it also provides the most contrast between the lows and highs. So, whenever the “hits” (as we call it in the band) come in...

I'm with @o0genesis0o and @aaf evo on the tuning bit. Although I'm far from a treblehead (some might even call me the opposite), the treble is the region I prioritize most in an IEM. To me, you can manipulate the bass a good amount before it sounds unnatural. The same goes for the mids. Say, if...

I remember Tyll from Inner Fidelity did that a while ago with headphones as an experiment. He found that most of them sounded better tonally (of course, given that they're now closer to his target curve), but, as you said, they'd show very different properties in other areas too. They'd have...

Yup, it's just like what I said about the Narukami on my CanJam post; a manifestation of a brand's wildest, most ambitious concepts that most people will only get to taste and let go of. And, I think there's a special place for those sorts of experiences. Like I said on that post, there's...

Again, I’m not saying that design is necessary for the driver config. You can always just slap a passive crossover on it, give it a 2-pin connector and call it a day. But, it is necessary for what Brise are trying to do. They want an active, 5-way crossover for their IEM, so a proprietary...

Watch enough of them and let the YouTube algorithm recommend some of the funkiest music it has to offer. (Cory Wong, Mark Lettieri, Scary Pockets, Nate Smith, Rai Thistlethwayte & Ozone Squeeze, Louis Cole & KNOWER… the list goes on.)

That's true, but this is one of those cases where a proprietary connector is actually necessary for its design. It's an IEM with an active crossover, meaning the signal from your DAP or source isn't divided into lows, low-mids, mids, highs, etc. inside the IEM like usual. Instead the signal goes...
