From my experience it also depends on the laptop/computer. Those standard windows laptops sounded worse to me than macs. It sounds also better if it's connected over ethernet rather than over wifi. An ethernet connected macbook air should be a good source and not sounding worse than those budget...

I don't know how much the 2022 Utopia differs from the older one but i've enjoyed the older one significantly more with a mushy/dark R2R Dac and hybrid amp combination than with a clean sounding ds dac + solid state amp combo.

I use the Fluxlabs FA-10 for my LCD-4 and have no complains.

HD250 600 Ohm followed by the AH-D9200 that are more versatile and easier to setup and use.

For me it's exactly the other way around compared to your Audeze experience. The LCDi4 sounded terrible to me (just like the HD800/HD800S), and i didn't like LCD-3 and LCD-X either. That's why i ditched the whole Audeze brand and never considered the LCD-4 until a local store had a used trade-in...

If you value the looks, feels, build quality and premium aspect yes, if you go purely for sound quality no.

The Starline tips don't look like the ones coming with the CRN. I'm looking specifically for those.

Joined the LCD-4 club. Seems to have it all so far. Extremely detailed, enough bass, big but coherent soundstage, natural sounding, energy but not fatiguing at all. 100%. If you can't feel the bass it doesn't matter how much bass quality or impact or what else there is. Most of the times i'll find a 200 bucks speaker setup with a messy subwoofer more enjoyable for techno or edm than a Phi TC or Susvara.
