Updrade to more musical/fun dac amp

One more vote for the Mojo2. I owned the OG Mojo and found the 2 to be a good enough upgrade on the SQ to justify the price. My conclusion was that Mojo2 is a little better on technicalities (detail, soundstage) while retaining the "musical" nature of Chord products, which resulted in better...

Not to divert this thread too much, but does Audirvana upsample the same way HQPlayer does?

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

I'm firmly in the camp that IEMs / Headphones matter more than the source, but also consider experimenting with sources to be an important and fun part of the hobby. Love "new amp (or new DAC) day"! iEMatch doesn't appeal for some reason, would rather find something that does it well straight...

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

Thank you for the detailed feedback on the Ara - you should definitely get that write-up published! I received them this morning and have been going through a few of my favourite tracks (all through the M15). So far, so good and fairly familiar given my experience with the Andromeda. However I...

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

No worries and yes the Mojo2 is a firm favourite, however I use it mostly as a desktop DAC (it's an amazing value desktop vs a decent value portable, if that makes sense). I tend to go for DAC/amps with smaller form factors on the go. So was wondering what the options are and whether I should...

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

I second this - have owned both and the IE900 is worth the extra money and is a far more interesting proposition than the 600. I recently plugged mine into my Little Dot tube amp, worked really well as the amp brought a nice warmth and coherence to the IE900s polished technicalities. This...

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

Inspired by this thread I went and bought the Andromeda 2020 - was initially weirded out by the far from neutral presentation but they eventually won me over. They survived a recent IEM cull that saw me sell Monarch MK2 and U12t, which says a lot. Spotted an Ara for sale at a good price the...

The Magnolia Electric Co. by Songs: Ohia What a great listen, really enjoyed this one. Tonight's chain: Laptop (Qobuz) --> W4S Recovery --> Mojo2 --> Little Dot MK3 --> IE900. Soulful.

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

just ordered these, thanks for the recommendation. Currently using the Tripowin Amber and although it's good, the connection to the earphones is not as secure as I'd like, the cable tends to separate under moderate pressure.

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]

Wholeheartedly agree. My example of this is the U12t - a few extra dBs of bass from the Mojo's EQ gives them that little more low-end oomph I crave on certain tracks / genres. The fundamentals of the recording, the DAC and the IEM are retained and enhanced.

Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort Not my usual fare but enjoyable nonetheless. Today's chain is a little longer than necessary: Laptop (Qobuz) --> W4S Recovery --> Mojo2 --> Little Dot MK3 --> V280 --> 64 Audio U12t. Glitchy distortion!

Sotho Blue by Abdullah Ibrahim Chain: Laptop (Qobuz) --> W4S Recovery --> Mojo2 --> V280 --> Focal Clear. This album is special and the chain, especially the Clears, does it complete justice.
