Topaz Low-Capacitance Isolation Transformers - for Affordably Clean Power
I'd say to have them all connected to one unless you can find yourself multiple TOPAZ's to ground their GND (green wire) at the output altogether via Star Grounding. By doing so reduces the AC leakage currents while keeping their 0.0005pF galvanic isolation towards specific gear. For example by...- Energy

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Sharing this ‘custom’ headphone stand with headphone cable holder that I pieced together for the incoming Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC :relieved: . The black color synergize well with the AB-1266, while the dual cable mount allows for end game cable designs that separate left and right audio...- Energy

Topaz Low-Capacitance Isolation Transformers - for Affordably Clean Power
In this setup I would go with option A. However despite the Niagara offering some benefits, the Topaz might end up sounding better standalone. Adding too many power line filters/conditioners to the electrical line adds impedance and when using them in sync can add some issues.- Energy

Topaz Low-Capacitance Isolation Transformers - for Affordably Clean Power
Depends how much your PC and monitor draws. Usually a PC is around 200-400W and monitors are anywhere from 25-50W. It would be better to run all the audio gear on the Topaz connected to one outlet of the wall receptacle, followed by getting a thick cable splitter for the rest such as PC...- Energy

Gustard U16 - the first USB Interface featuring ESS USB chip
New USB implementations are now better isolated, features lower phase noise clocks, and have their I²S length much shorter than using a separate box solution. Thus a decent implemented USB can sound just as good as a slightly better implemented DDC (USB to I²S). CD player’s coaxial output’s...- Energy

Gustard U16 - the first USB Interface featuring ESS USB chip
I can concur that the Denafrips Terminator’s USB input sounds better than any LVDS input. My best guess is that I²S native signals are more prone to signal degradation as it was originally created for no longer than PCB to PCB connections. Having a lengthy signal from a DDC’s output through an...- Energy

Gustard U16 - the first USB Interface featuring ESS USB chip
Thanks for the share @zeid2 Do you feel like the Gustard C16 made a significant difference to your system? Are you currently connecting it to your Gustard U16 and sCLK-EX board? SC-Cut OCXO’s are better than femtosecond SPXO’s for sure however I didn’t know they were much better than the...- Energy

Gustard U16 - the first USB Interface featuring ESS USB chip
Actually I read it a little different. Correct me if I'm wrong. "To ensure the highest quality digital audio signals and the best clock jitter performance, the U16 uses up to three FPGAs to implement USB audio interface clock management and the audio clock frequency synthesizers in the external...- Energy

Gustard U16 - the first USB Interface featuring ESS USB chip
I am deciding between the two. When attaching a master clock option to the Guastard U16, does it take that new sine wave signal for all of it’s clocking operations or does it still rely on the Accusilicon? It seems like both the U16 and SU-6 use FPGA and PLL for clocking purposes. But one has...- Energy

Focal Utopia General Discussion
Thank you for sharing. A friend also told me the same thing but considering they are nearly $5,000 headphones it is hard to take the plunge. After hearing your comments and many others who has said the same, I think it's time to go give them a try.- Energy

Focal Utopia General Discussion
@jlbrach You're saying the Abyss TC offers better bass extension and amount, but it still lacks the impact that only dynamic drivers can offer right? By how much. As for the imaging, how does the two compare? The Utopia is good for imaging (but not as good as electrostatics imo). Does the Abyss...- Energy

Focal Utopia General Discussion
@Roasty Could you give us some pointers on how the Abyss 1266 Phi TC compares to the Focal Utopia? What does each excel in. What do each lack? How do they compete? @joseph69 Have you ever used your previous SR-009 with a KGSSHV Carbon? Or has it been just the BHSE & WA33 since. What did you...- Energy

Metrum Pavane
I had a Pavane but preferred the Holo Audio Spring for it’s DSD capabilities which made it sound better than PCM when utilizing HQPLAYER’s upsampling feature. If comparing the two on strictly PCM music (without upsampling to DSD) then I’d say that the Pavane was ahead of the Spring by 10%. The...- Energy
