Yeah the open looks amazing. I love traditional looking woods most and this one is super nice. Not that I don't love that CC, but the CO is so classy looking. Reminds me of my aged cherry AO, which is my all time favorite looking ZMF. I can't wait to get these some major ear time tonight once...

That's my evaluation method as well, long time periods. You'll expect a certain tone and response, and any deviation from expectation screams for attention. On one of my delirious late night sessions I somehow changed out my power tubes on my Stratus while listening to another amp. No clue why...

oils tend to be flammable, i hope the cable comes with a combustion warning. if it did catch fire would that mean it has hot highs? :) yes people, it's a "warm" cable hahaha

so as the oil dries out, does the cable sound dryer? or does it come with some 10-40W and a funnel to refill the oil? can i run synthetic oil? sorry, i couldn't help myself... ok one last one, if i run thicker oil will the mids get warmer? :)

If you contact them they'll set you up with a headband replacement order. A few years ago I swapped my old slider style headband to the then newer style, and it was easy. Maybe 30 mins tops. And I was being extra careful not to scratch my cups. If I was moving at normal speed it was maybe a 10...

Very good point on the VC and chain. Put the wrong amp behind it and it's not so great sounding. But get it right and it's quite a treat to listen to. I still find the Verite models the hardest to find amp synergy with. So many of the amps my Atticus and Auteur loved, the VC didn't.

How is the tone and timbre? Do they sound natural like the dynamic ZMFs? Or do they have that cooler/harder planar sound that seems to permeate every planar i've heard? I'm assuming the Aegis drives them with lots of authority? That's an amazing demo set! Love how everything looks. Eager to hear...

Mine had a few small holes like that as well, but in different positions. I believe when testing each set Zach makes any necessary modifications to get the sound he desires, so the holes could be random while tuning. Meaning there could be a lot of variation in the holes on each unit.
