IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

I had 7hz Timeless. I remember it being a very special sounding IEM if given enough energy. But compared with IMR sets it sounded thin, a trait I don't quite respect given the genres I usually listened too. I wouldn't expect a conventional driver, cheaper IEM from 7Hz to stand against an even...

About the intimate/expansive stage properties of Enigma. I believe if you try them with an expansive sounding track they will sound expansive. I get a similar response from my Shure SE846. They sound intimate with objectively intimate tracks and big with objectively spacious tracks. I think...

I must report that the sibilance issue with Enigma is gone. I have them almost permanently on the Ifi Go Pod with Black/Gold filter combo and Sennheiser IE Pro silicon tips with the foam filter removed.

Bandcamp is the most honest platform for that. I regularly buy just for support to some favourites even though I have Tidal subscription

@jon parker the mystery of auditory consciousness is no more no less than the mystery of consciousness in general. It is so interesting to me to observe our struggling with this ancient phenomenon here and be perplexed whether our IEMs or sources or cables are the factors responsible for...

'On the Phenomenology of Auditory Experience with Headphones and Earphones' by Jon Parker. This article I'd like to read sometime.

Yes. Though as I said I am not sure if this is because of the IEM itself or the DAC/AMP. But if the general opinion you summarize from multiple experiences tends towards a specific judgement then probably the IEMs are a decisive factor as well. I saw above that our friend @jon parker sells...

I interchange listening Enigma/Go Pod with NaLe/Nyx+. NaLe is wider, richer sounding with electronica. Enigma more controlled, focused. An impression that the cymbals are coming from the middle of my cranium while with NaLe they originated from the periphery. At its price NaLe is really...

I confirm also that more than other IEMs I have, Enigma are very picky with audio sources

With Go Pod and Black/Gold with Azlas the treble is very controlled. For example the next album has a sibilant tendency and is one I use for treble testing. Enigma handles it great with the above. https://tidal.com/album/174966107?u

As you remember that was my problem with my Enigma as well. This ameliorated with some burn in and I believe it is going to get better still. Also it seems to be a source sensitive issue as @mekap and others have suggested. Change in filters did not help much in my case.

That's my opinion on NaLe for the 200-300 margin. Unbeatable for anyone with a taste of this kind of signature at this price.
