I have got 1st Gen Wa5 but it is a Frankenstein Woo (upgraded). Still, it is as powerful as a normal 1st Gen Wa5 and (I guess) its successor. It drives Susvara seamlessly although I have to reach for up to 85% of a volume horsepower sometimes when DR values are high. Still, the top 300B valves...

Great Lp, great band. My favourite of theirs is “Soul Mining”, that first non-remastered cd edition sounds absolutely phenomenal.

Thanks for your input; I have Susv,1266tc and SR1a; sold hsa-1b and I’m currently saving for VM1a; I can’t have all so when I finally get Raal’s tube monster I will definitely consider swapping Susvara for CA1a leaving me with some extra $$$ in my bank 😎

I won't buy a new pair of cables just to experiment :) all I know is that if I pull the speakers slightly away from my ears I love what I'm hearing hence the conclusion that slightly thicker pads may help. yes, I can experiment with...pads
