+1 for Addicted to Audio (where you tried these in Melbourne), Guillaume/Rendra/George are awesome.    It's good to hear that they aren't a total flop in their own right (cable company makes first pair of headphones ever and they're planar magnetic and cost $5k whuttt) :)

Nice review dan.   I completely agree with your sentiments re the difference between the HD800 and LCD3. I find that with a fairly neutral SS amp, these two headphones really come into their own. Personally, I found that I didn't have a very clear bias in terms of sound signature preference...

Just got a new pair of LCD3s today and my FR graph seems to be quite different to yours :S        

Just got the HD800 today. Highly, highly recommend this combination of gear.    

In case I'm blind, has Trevor publicly confirmed that he's going to stop trading permanently somewhere?   It will be tragic if he does as I was holding out for his Pure Silver Reign for my LCD3. Nobody styles them like he does, especially with those Zebrano Y-splitters :(

Damn this thread and you guys.   I'm desperately trying to convince myself that I don't want to buy the HD800s because I painstakingly chose LCD3s over them. Most bittersweet decision ever when you're dumb like I am and enjoy both sound signatures. I really think it's just a mood/genre...
