Yeah, a transformer coupled tube amp with clean tubes will sound very similar. Had the same experience with the RNHP and Liquid Platinum.

I don’t think most of these cases are anything more than finicky usb drivers. The few that might be seem to get their hardware replaced by schiit rather quickly.

I don’t think I had the BF2 and 789 at the same time. The modius sounds similar imo so it’s not surprising.

Probably an unpopular opinion. Modius / Magnius does great to my ear with v2. Save $500?

Hilarious thread gap here! But I’ll bite anyway. it was probably the ad500x or m40x that really started the progression.

To me, the SE output sounds great. Granted I don’t run any of my cans SE, I do have a hart converter so I tried my clears with it. It’s maybe not as resolving but still quite good. from what I hear the Asgard 3 is amazing so if you’re going to run SE that’s probably the way to go

I’ll repeat, I have both the asgard2 and magnius, I really think the magnius run balanced is a cleaner, better amp. It doesn’t heat up my room, has a way better pot, and the reduced size makes sense when paired with modius. Again this is only pairing with modius. some of these reviews seem wild...

Maybe they didn’t want to release some weird box with three holes that only deals in XLR (smirks in erish). In all seriousness the idea of a balanced only amp is super limiting. also, listening to both balanced and SE on this, they both sound good.
