Tried hard reset through pinhole, tried connecting to a PC , tried recharging. Nothing works

You've auditioned them out? If you still cannot make up your mind, it's because they all have more or less similar frequency response. Just get one that is most comfortable to you.

Any word on the op amp section, James? what chip will it have? or still not final yet?

Speaking of ESS9018, why not use ESS9012 instead? it's more upscale than ESS9018 Mobile Version looking at the spec. It's on par with ESS9018 in stereo performance withouth the hassle of paralleling the DACs

ESS9018 with the amp section of an E12 connected would be ideal for me. I am not sure I am willing to use anything bigger than the enclosure of the E12. Think about it, 5" android phone with the thickness of an X5? it's just too much

That is what I am hoping as well. All my favorite amp like RA1 and O2 uses NJM4556A, that is my wish to James Fiio.

What chip do you guys think Fiio will use for the amp section for this X1? Looking at history, Fiio normally uses similar chip from their other product line, e.g. OPA1612+ dual LMH6643 in their Kunlun for their X5, and AD8397 from their E11 for their X3. If I have to guess, they probably are...

in that case, it is not the O2 that drives your speakers...what your speakers "see" is just the output of its internal amp..no matter what you put before the internal amp...unless you remove the internal amp, it will become unecessary for you to put O2 in the signal chain. in which case I dont...
