IMHO, if you have the budget, go directly to tubes for the Auteur, it makes THAT much of a difference. @Phantaminum - I don't think you will even bother looking elsewhere once you have your Glenn OTL.

Fedex made me very happy today. Some quick thoughts : Vocals sound absolutely amazing. I prefer the Eikon pads compared to the Auteur. Metrum Onyx -> Crimson -> Auteur is more laid back and musical compared to Yggy A2 -> Crimson -> Auteur. Will need to try an OTL amp in the future for sure...
