USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I have downloaded the full version of USB Audio Player Pro already and the above happens. Re: powered USB hub - can you give an example of the type of device on Amazon? And do I connect this directly to the phone or connect the phone to the OTG cable, then to the hub and then to the DAC?- John_M

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
Can anyone help with some troubleshooting? My device (Motorola G7) has OTG model/ USB host and recognises my DAC (Topping DX3) fine. However, no sounds appears to be going via USA (although the phone seems to think it's sending music as when I unplug the USB cable it says 'unable to send data...- John_M

Just to add - if anyone's interested, I did a bit of playing around and as one of a few tweaks to get this to work, I set the PS5 sound output device to 'AV Amplifier' rather than 'TV.' This may have helped, although I haven't tested - it may just be that the Amazon splitter was a bit temperamental.- John_M

I can report that a £10 splitter from Amazon does work. :) PS5 is reporting 120fps and audio is fine. It was a little temperamental at first but it got there. One output is sending 120fps to the TV (actually a monitor) and the other is sending audio to the A8. Yes I do have the HDMI version. It...- John_M

I wasn't expecting it but the splitter approach does seem to work. I say 'seems to' because I tried it with a switcher rather than a splitter. With a switcher I can get either video to the TV or audio to the Realizer (without passing through the Realizer) but not both at the same time. I'm...- John_M

Thank you - that's interesting. Your answer (1) is different from a previous answer I had on this thread! Could I ask a completely different question? I'm currently using an A8 to play on PS5 but it will not allow HDMI passthrough at 120fps - even if I set the PS5 to output HDMI 1.4 rather...- John_M

If I have a 7.1 PRIR recorded on an A8, is it possible to 'implant' this into a 24 channel BRIR? Or can it only be 'adapted' for an 8 channel BRIR?- John_M

Have you still got the SRM-717? If so, do you think you could set up a volume matched blind test vs the KGSSHV mini?- John_M

Thanks, that's understood! (I have repeatedly stressed how little I know...) Is the same true for the arguments that were being made earlier about the voltage swing requirements/ the difficulty of achieving the required output current with an electrostatic amp (i.e. the output level of the DAC...- John_M

Can you explain why it would "clip all the same" if it's being pushed less hard? Or am I missing the point?- John_M

Another thing I don't understand (and I'm really going to show my ignorance here...) Suppose I use a Topping D90. The RCA outputs 2Vrms. The balanced outputs 4Vrms. So can I just easily increase the power (and therefore the sound quality) just by using the balanced?- John_M

I'm not sure if this is tongue in cheek but as you've probably realised, you might re-launch the power debate with this comment... there are quite strong opinions on both sides about it. ;) If it isn't a tongue in cheek comment then you can read back through the thread to see some forcefully...- John_M

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
Thanks Joe. By the way, I looked earlier in the thread and you said you were considering abolishing this feature because it could confuse some customers (i.e. like me!) I would keep it if I were you - it's a good feature provided you explain in the manual or somewhere that the choice of volume...- John_M

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
Hi Joe... sorry to bug you again! I am trying plugging this into an amp which can take 30V in so no issue here. I can't immediately hear any distortion at 100% volume using line out. Is there any reason to believe that high volumes from line out would cause distortion? I'd rather just leave it...- John_M
