I read the ground could be causing the issue, so you are probably right.

I guess I was just confused because the JBLs only have one 1/4 inch plug in, and that cable has two 1/4 inch ends.

Do the JBL LSR305s have that RCA hookup? I thought they only had the two 6.3mm plugs - the thicker plugs. None of these DACs have hat hookup, I don't think.
