. There are lots of settings to make sure the R7 is outputting properly, including a beta driver. If that driver is not enabled, the R7 may downsample. For me, when the driver is engaged for certain streaming apps, the R7 output to an external dac via usb c is bit perfect and very good.

I went usbc out to my dac. Worked, but the driver created issues (see above) with control of the port and swapping streaming sources.

I tried to disable the usb driver, but that does not release the usb c connected external dac, so I am unable to play music using any other app except the one that last used the driver (i.e., Roon Arc and Qobuz) until I reboot the R7.

Same here. I use an external dac. I use Apple Music, Roon Arc, Qobuz, and Sirius. The R7 is simpler for me than another streamer like a Pi that I would mess up, and that isn’t as “pretty” or simple to control. My only issue is with the Ru’s usb driver. It doesn’t release the streaming app...

I am using latest version of Roon Arc. Once Roon Arc plays music to an external dac connected by usb c, I can no longer play music to the external dac over usb c with any other streaming service. It is like the usb c port gets locked to the Roon Arc app.

It still happens without enabling that mode.

II opened Fiio music one time but I don’t use it. I don’t recall whether I used usb exclusive mode. I don’t think so, but I might have tried it one time to see what would happen.
