    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland! - IMPRESSIONS

I have never heard of the Capital Audiofest before. Could anyone give me a rough idea of what type of gear, and environment I could expect if I attended? Thanks

Sennheiser Q&A: HDV 820 Digital Amplifier

I posted a few questions in another thread (some of which have been answered) but as this is the Q&A thread I'll repost my answered questions here. 1. I know it's designed with full sized headphones in mind, but how does it preform with IEM's (Sennheiser IE 800's in particular)? I wouldn't use...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'll give the EQ another shot with your tips, and see if I have better results. I have about a week before I have to return the Fostex TH-610's, if I can't make them sound how I want in the next few days they will have to be returned, and I'll try a different pair...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Thanks for the reply, I downloaded the EQ you recommened. Could you tell me what you have everything set to? I don't have any experience with EQ, and so far all I've manged to do is make the music sound worse.

What EQ software do you guys recommend? I recently bought a pair of Fostex TH-610's to try out, and I definitely feel the bass needs to be boosted. Looking for software mainly for windows, but any suggestions for iOS would be appreciated too.

I was able to try the E-MU Teaks, and Fostex TH-900's at the DC area Head-Fi meet yesterday. I loved the Teaks, and definitely preferred them over the TH-900's. I didn't get to hear the 630VB's but I think I like the Teaks enough to just buy them without trying the 630VB's.

    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland!

Yeah the weight is my many complaint about my Audeze LCD-3's, after an hour or two I really start to feel the weight, and it gets uncomfortable to me. My HD700's on the other hand I'm able to wear all day. I have heard a lot of criticism towards the HD700's but decided to buy them anyway when I...

    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland! - IMPRESSIONS

Thanks to everyone who set up the meet. It was my first one, and I really enjoyed it. Got to cross off a ton of headphones from my list of ones I wanted to get to try. I also think I found the next pair of headphones I want to buy, E-MU Teaks. I have been looking for headphones for bass heavy...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Haven't decided if I'm going to keep my IE 800's yet or return them, and wait for the hopefully soon to be released IE 800S's. If I do end up keeping them though I am wondering if anyone knows if the RCS 800 cable works with an iPhone 7 Plus. On their website it says it's made for windows and...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

My bad, I guess I wrongly assumed all of them in the family would have the treble issue. The reason I was most interested in the TH-900's and TH-610's is Massdrop doesn't take returns, and I don't want to be stuck with the headphones if I don't like them, or have to sell them at a loss. I guess...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

If anyone has tried the Sennheiser HD630VB's how are they with the bass dail turned up? I really enjoy my IE80's which also have a bass dail. So the HD630VB's are very interesting to me. I was advised on this thread Fostex headphones with my amp (Schiit Jotunheim) would probably result in...

    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland!

I'm definitely willing to give one a try. The iPhone does still have a physical connector, you just have to use a lighting to 3.5mm headphone jack dongle (comes with the phone). My main concern is I don't have a large collection (or any collection really) of FLAC or other lossless audio files...

    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland!

Will any of the fine headphones you mentioned be Sennheiser HD800S's? Im very interested in upgrading to them from my HD700's. If I like them they will most likely be the next headphones I buy. I am also wondering if there will be Audeze LCD-4's, I have LCD-3's, and although the LCD-4's are out...

    DC Area Head-Fi Meet and End-of-Summer SchiitStorm! - August 12, 2017 - Gaithersburg, Maryland!

I've always just used my phone for portable music, currently an iPhone 7 plus. How do their DAP's compare to a phone? Would you get a noticeable enough difference in audio quality, that makes it worth carrying around 2 devices?
