Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

There's a MV1 thread as well. You can look into it to get more details. Some people mentioned there that it is great for metal.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

No worries at all! Glad to help you. I'm also considering getting the MV1 because it isn't power hungry unlike other headphones that I listed. I also like Sony products!

    Sony MDR-MV1

Ah. I see. What would you recommend? I was actually considering iFi uno or Fiio K11.

    Sony MDR-MV1

That's great! I think I'll go with the MV1. I don't have a DAC-AMP setup anyway to drive other headphones in this price range. Just a xDuoo Link 2 Bal. Thanks!

    Sony MDR-MV1

That's awesome! What bands or genres do you listen to, if you don't mind sharing? All I want is good details, good imaging, good layering and instrument separation. I like my bass like I like my treble, detailed yet not overdone. I mean to say balanced. I have HD 599 but the riffs sound muffled...

Hi Everyone! Would these be good for my music library which primarily consists of metal, rock and instrumental music? Looking for good open back headphones under 400$.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I've been looking at some open back headphones under 400$ for metal music. Although I listen to other genres as well. So, actually looking for an all-rounder open back headphone. Metal genre I listen to: thrash, tech-death, prog metal, metalcore, old school heavy metal, death, black etc. I...

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Master: Official Impressions & Reviews Thread

Thanks! That's what I really wanted to know. Your inputs have been really helpful. Now I only need to decide between these and HifiMan Sundara Closed Backs. Both are available at the exact same price here in my country. I'm leaning towards Crossfade Masters because of 2 years warranty, foldable...

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Master: Official Impressions & Reviews Thread

Hey! Thanks for such a quick response. I like well done bass which doesn't go too boomy. Also I like some mid-bass so that the instruments sound fuller. From what you've described, seems like I really might enjoy the "fun" sound of the Crossfade M100 Master. One thing that I just wanted to know...

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Master: Official Impressions & Reviews Thread

I know this is an old thread and I apologise for replying to it, but would these be an upgrade if I already have AKG K361 and Sennheiser HD 599? I listen mainly to metal, rock and instrumental music. I can only get closed backs.

@Redcarmoose thanks for such a quick response! Going to order these now. I have other IEMs that are either neutral or bright. This would be a good addition I guess. Thanks again!

Great review! Would these be decent for metal and rock or let me rephrase it, would these be decent for a relaxed listen for all genres especially metal and rock?

This is totally unrelated to these IEMs, but can you please tell me what DAP is that with the Bathory song playing?
