Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
I have it and I don't particularly like it, at least with the Pro 82 v1. High-frequency sound becomes too piercing.- OscarPaz

How do those pads change the sound signature with respect to stock ones? Thanks!- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
I have a Pro 82 v1 for sure (purchased in 2017 from first batch) and recently got the BTR3K and the balanced cable. This combo is fantastic, but I don’t think it helps with bass in particular, rather with separation, soundstage and micro-detail. It has been a real upgrade for me in that...- OscarPaz

Imbalance would be huge. Not any good experience. Don’t do that…- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
I am using BTR3K mostly wired!, hahaha. 🤦🏻♂️ Since I have Apple devices and BT just sucks. I thought v2 had slightly more bass w.r.t. v1. Or if not substantially, perhaps relatively. I listened to that revision for some time (borrowed from a friend), and found it a bit more congested than v1...- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
It's good to have reviews, as many as possible. I appreciate the time and effort these people take to elaborate their reports. I do respect ASR in particular. We all know that sound preference is very subjective, regardless of target curves. Pro 82 has its own faults IMO, like being too bright...- OscarPaz

Sorry, very busy at work, can't reply at length. But... Pro 82 v1 + BTR3K + balanced cable is a surgical knife!, sooo crisp and precise, with better spatial cues and layering. If you like detail (I do), I think this combo outputs your music like a nanoscope, a real positive surprise. However...- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
Thanks @MaxSong, missed that one! When I tried to play Spotify Premium for the first time, I only heard some kind of static noise, not music at all! However, a quick search also led me to that GitHub repo with instructions on how to set up PulseAudio for BTR3-like devices. The solution is not...- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
Thanks @BenF for the detailed response. I’m usually on Linux, it detects the BTR3K as both analog and digital audio output interface. Whenever this happens, I set volume to max on “both” system devices and try to figure out which one is the actual digital out (sometimes labels are not correct)...- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
Got it today, but very busy day. Just tested it very briefly. On first impression with Pro 82, not a big fan. Mine is v1, so highs are a tad up there, and with this combo it sounds a bit harsh to me. Bass quality is also degraded w.r.t. other devices: Mojo, HA-2, or even the Sonata HD Pro...- OscarPaz

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread
I just bought the FiiO BTR3K. Will report about my impressions in few days when it arrives here. And I'll have to look into balanced cables as well... Thanks @BenF! (Or maybe not, stop recommending things! :p). PS: Btw, for those in Spain (or Europe in general), the audio store Zococity has a...- OscarPaz

Apparently any 2.5mm-terminated cable wired for Sennheiser should also work with Pro 82. You get to pick whether you also want 2.5mm (balanced) or 3.5mm (single-ended) at the other end. Speaking from memory, but this was discussed in these terms some few pages back, afaik.- OscarPaz
